The Artful Women of Clinton Return

The Artful Women of Clinton Return

Shannon Blencowe, Lauren Tryrell and Shannon Gilmore, all from Clinton, and all college art students, present to the community a selection of their paintings and drawings before returning to school in the fall. All three young artists studied with Chester artist Claudia Post for extensive training during high school and recently displayed their work at the Mill Gallery in Chester in an exhibit called Artful Women.  Blencowe attends Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, MA, Tyrell, attends the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and Gilmore attends Paier College of Art in Hamden.  Influenced by the rising trend of  returning to classical realism with a contemporary edge, their works in pastel, oil and colored pencil reflect a strong academic background and mastery of portraiture, still life, figurative works, landscapes and animals. Their works will be on display upstairs in the Henry Carter Hull Library, August 2 through August 30th.
